SKIN – Contact with wet cement, cementitious material and concrete can result in serious skin injury. This risk is increased if the material is allowed to continue rubbing against the skin, e.g. Down your boots, in your gloves or through saturated clothing To avoid the risk of skin injury, minimise your contact with the material e.g. Avoid “paddling” in wet concrete; wear suitable protective clothing (see below) Where contact occurs, whether directly or throughout saturated clothing, wash thoroughly without delay – with clean water

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING – Think about the clothing you need to wear to avoid the material coming into contact with your skin.

In Particular :

– Wear waterproof wellingtons. If they leak or split, change them without delay.

– Wear suitable clothing which will avoid the risk of the material accidentally getting down your boots.

– Wear gloves to minimise the risk of the material splashing on your hands.

– Use kneepads or a waterproof mat if you are kneeling down to finish off.
